  DO NOT READ THIS!
This isn't reverse psychology. I just really don't want anyone to actually take the time to read this post. It is perhaps the most boring, long winded post I've ever written. But, I invested so much time writing it, that I just couldn't delete it. So, here it is: (you have been warned).

It amazes me how busy and nonstop a day at home can be. I decided to write down everything I did yesterday (in excruciating detail) to remember how full my days can be (even when I'm "not doing anything").

7:20 - Owen wakes up - wants to nurse. Nurse for 10 minutes.

7:30 - Go in and wake up Austin for court. Go change Owen's diaper and clothes. Go back to wake Austin up again. Give Owen his first dose of Mylanta. Nurse more. Back to sleep.

10:20 - Phone rings. It's the lady from the newspaper returning my call about a birth announcement. She needs my fax number, so I get up and find a business card and give her the fax number.

The phone woke Owen up. Nurse him some. Diaper change.

10:35 - Put him in his bouncer seat in the bathroom.
Start water boiling to sterilize Owen's medicine droppers. Tape up the box with Rebecca's computer to send to Apple. Boil droppers for ten minutes. Tidy up the clutter for Connie.

11:00 - Jump in the shower.

Phone rings. Work call. I put "May" on the front of the June magazine. I tell them it might be an hour or so before I can get the updated page uploaded.

Finish my shower. I think I hear someone at the door. Holly starts barking. I throw some clothes on. There's no one there.

11:30 - Phone rings. It's a fax machine. The caller ID says "Walton Tribune." Ugh.

Take Holly outside on a leash. Give her a treat. Get her bed, blanket, food, water bowl, and kong toy and bring them downstairs. Fill her water bowl. Go chase Holly through the living room. Pick her up and put her downstairs.
11:45 - Phone rings. Fax machine.

Run grab the bag of diapers and throw them in the washing machine and start a cold rinse.
Owen is crying his head off by now. Get him out of his bouncy seat. Wait for the rinse cycle on the washing machine to finish and open the lid. Leave the diapers soaking for an hour.
12:00 - Check email while nursing Owen. Call the paper. Leave a message telling them to use the fax number, not my home number to fax me the information. Fix the cover of the magazine and start the PDF uploading.

One of my emails is from the bank I just did a logo for. They want to meet with me about a brochure. I call my mother-in-law to see when she can babysit. She tells me Thursday morning is best so I email the bank.

12:15 - Connie arrives and starts cleaning the house.

I close the washing machine and let the spin cycle go on the diapers.

12:20 - Diaper change. Phone rings while Owen is on the changing table. I rush to get it. Austin is calling. He is on his way home and wants to see if I can make him lunch. I finish the diaper change and change Owen's clothes and bib since he has spit up all over the ones he was wearing.

12:25 - Austin gets home. I hand Owen to him while I run make him peanut butter sandwiches and the rest of his lunch. I put some veggies in the microwave for me. I start the diapers washing. I put my drink and veggies by my seat and take Owen from Austin. I eat my lunch while Owen nurses some more.

1:15 - Austin goes back to work.

I design a new banner for "fried okra." Owen nurses two more times while I'm doing this.

2:00 - I take Owen back to his room for a little while. Diaper change. I put him on the floor for "tummy time" while I file the bills I paid yesterday and some other papers. Owen starts getting fussy.

2:30 - The doorbell rings. The delivery guy is here to pick up Becca's computer.

I show Owen his mobile and let him look out the window for a little bit. He calms down for a little bit and starts getting fussy again. I put on some music and nurse him. He falls asleep.

3:00 - Phone rings. Austin's mom wants to know what day I set up the meeting for the bank. I tell her I hadn't heard back yet.

3:10 - I hear Connie leave.

Diaper change. Clothes change for Owen. Shirt change for me.

3:20- Put Owen in his stroller. Throw diaper inserts into the dryer. Hang the outer parts of the diapers to dry. Put in a load of whites and start them washing.

Run downstairs. Put Holly on her leash. Pick up her food and water bowls and kong and go to the bathroom sink to pour out the water. Before I am all the way up, Holly pulls very hard on the leash and water spills all over the place. I pour the rest of the water out and head upstairs.

3:30 - Owen, Holly and I go outside. I get the paper and the mail and wait for Holly to go to the bathroom. I give her a treat when we get back inside and wash my hands. I cook myself a bagel. Go downstairs. Get Holly's bed and wipe up the water I spilt on the floor earlier.

Owen is crying by now. I nurse him while I eat my bagel and he seems to be getting sleepy.

3:45 - My email says the bank wants to meet on Thursday. I call Austin's mom and tell her that. Give Owen his second dose of Mylanta.

4:00 - Pay some bills. Balance our checkbook. Balance my work checkbook. Get a deposit ready for the bank. Diaper change.

4:40 - Phone rings. Becca and I talk.

5:00 - Phone rings. Austin is on his way home.

I put Owen in his swing. He falls asleep immediately.

I start Austin's frozen pizzas cooking. Austin gets home. Throw the white clothes in the dryer. Put a load of dark clothes in the washing machine. Unload the dishes. Load the stray dishes in the dishwasher. I start the coffee.

5:30 - Austin eats his pizza and I watch a show with him.

6:00 - I pull the white clothes out, hang the ones that need to be hung. Put the darks in the dryer and start a load of towels.

6:45 - Austin leaves for a city budget meeting.

Start pumping breast milk for Ann to use during my meeting on Thursday morning.

7:20 - Phone rings. Austin's mom tells me that she picked up Austin's shirts at the dry cleaners. Check email. Work on blog template.

7:40 - Take Holly out. When I come back inside I hear the answering machine turning off and Owen is waking up. I see on the caller ID that Austin called. I tell him about his shirts and he says he's on his way home.

I start the towels drying and hang the dark clothes.

Load the stray dishes and throw the cans and water bottles in the recycling bin.

8:00 - Austin gets home. He talks some on the phone. Work some on the computer. We do the trash. Change another diaper. Give Owen his antibiotic. Nurse Owen and watch a couple of episodes of Fraiser with Austin. During the show, Owen keeps fussing and I have to keep nursing him or walking him around bouncing him, or rocking him to keep him pacified. Austin takes him for a little bit.

11:00 - It is getting time for bed so I put Owen in his bouncy seat in the bathroom. While brushing my teeth, I walk up to the laundry room to get the laundry that hasn't been folded. I bring it to our bedroom and fold it and put it away. Put the bath mats back into place.

11:30 - I go take Holly out. Give her a treat and put her to bed.

I wash my face, take out contacts, put on pajamas, get a water to take with me to bed.

11:45 - Diaper change. Change Owen into his pajamas. Austin holds him for a little bit. Give Owen third dose of Mylanta. Nurse him. Time for bed.

Totals:
Diaper Changes - 8
Feedings - 11
Medicine doses - 4
Loads of laundry - 4
Took Holly out - 4 times

  Memorial Day
Owen liked swimming and it really tired him out!

  Holly looks so sad...

  An anniversary present from Owen
I haven't mentioned it yet, but Owen slept through the night on our anniversary (the 24th). Of course it hadn't happened before and hasn't happened since, but that full 8.5 hours was quite nice!

Friday Poll 5_26_06 Top Five Albums
What are your top 5 albums of all time?

I'll go with these (in no particular order):
The Beatles - Abbey Road
Radiohead - OK Computer
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Tori Amos - Boys for Pele
Nine Inch Nails - Things Falling Apart

There are many other artists that I would include, but these are probably my favorite albums to listen to from start to finish. A lot of my favorite albums are greatest hit collections, but I decided that I wouldn't include those (David Bowie - Changes, Paul Simon - Negotiations and Love Songs, Rolling Stones - Hot Rocks, etc, etc...)

  Happy Birthday, Jake!
Sorry, it is a few hours late.

Oh, how I hate those words. (but at least I'm not sitting at the Volkswagen dealership)

Recent Photos 5_19_06 (Daddy's so funny!)

  My Big Boy
Owen is so big! He is now in 6-9 month clothing or just 9 months. Most of the 6 month clothes are too short in his torso. He's already over 16 pounds! His swing will only hold up to 25 pounds. It rocks and creaks now when he's in it and we have to turn it way up to get it going at any decent speed. Anyway, look at this chunky little guy after just 10 weeks (before and after)...

  Friday Poll 5_19_06 Bands
If you were in a band, what would the name of your band be? And what type of music would you play?

  Recent Photos 5_17_06
I usually don't caption my photos, but a couple of these need explanations...

These two are of "tummy time." Owen is doing pretty well in the first one, but the in the second one he just can't hold his head up any longer.

Owen is pooping in these next two. Notice how red his face is and how his fists are clenched and how his feet go up in the air. He is just smiling in the two after.
