Friday Poll 8_31_07 Sports
Okay, this is sort of more than one question, so you can answer just part of it if you want.
1. What is your favorite sport to watch?
2. What is your favorite sport to play?
3. If you could pick a sport for your child to play, what sport would you choose? And, would it make a difference if you had a girl or a boy?
Friday Poll 8_24_07 Parties
What was the best party you've ever been to?
I'm going to preface this post by saying that if you tell me the ending, I'm going to murder you in your sleep
(I won't really do that, but it gets my point across, no?) Austin made me start reading the Harry Potter books. I read the first two back when I was pregnant, but then I started reading pregnancy/parenting books, and didn't pick up any fiction for many, many months. Anyway, I started reading the third one around the time that the last book came out. I am now working my way through the fifth book and I am enjoying it so much! I don't think I've had this much fun reading since I rushed through
the Lord of the Rings books back in college to beat the release of the movies.
Anyway, perhaps I should be reading books that are more advanced, but these are really enjoyable and they are so easy to read. By the way, some advice to my pregnant friends out there (and my friends without children for that matter) - READ WHILE YOU CAN, because once you have kids, it isn't quite as easy to find time to read. I have gotten to where I enjoy the waiting rooms at doctor's appointments since I have spare time to kill with a book!
Relief.
The weather this week is down to the mid-90's. Nice.
(sorry to keep posting about the weather, but the triple-digit temps melted my brain.)
Friday Poll 8_17_07 Vacations
What was the best vacation you ever took?
Have I mentioned how HOT it has been here lately?
For the past couple of years, whenever the thermometer in my car tells me that the temperature outside is 100 degrees or higher, I find that notable. It has hit 100, maybe 101, probably 2 or 3 times each year. But in the last couple of weeks it usually hovers between 98 and 101 during the day and it has hit 106 and 104 on two different occassions. One of the digital signs in town said that it was 110 degrees the other day. That is hot. Couple that heat with the humidity, it is just unbearable to go outside.
But, at least I didn't have to move in the heat. Sorry, Amanda! ;-)
I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached
I think at one point or another I have lost everything I own. Seriously. Name it, and I have lost it for at least a few minutes - sometimes for a few hours, days or even months. It sucks. It is so stressful to lose things all the time. Right now, I have lost my memory card reader, so I can't download the latest pictures on my camera. What is especially irritating is that I have the wire that it connects to; I just don't have the actual reader. Comparitively, it isn't too bad though. In the last few months I have lost my keys, my credit card, my ATM card, my wallet, my purse, my phone, my camera and I can't even remember what else! Ugh. My chest hurts.
